Introduction

  

Most resources will tell you that alpaca are robust animals, that they are easy-care animals that only need hands on work, a couple of times a year for shearing and toenail trimming. They are hardy animals and adapt well to changes provided they are supplied their basic needs of food and water, however, they do have some specific requirements.

                             

Alpaca do suffer from various internal problems. It is not the task of this website to go in depth on all of these areas, so only a few helpful comments are given. Your vet is the best person who can help you diagnose or treat any of these problems. It is important to note that if your alpaca is suffering from any illness, it is good to look at the overall health of that animal, as many diseases are because of general poor health rather than a single disease or symptom.
