National Show 2024

2024 National Show Announcement

The National Council are pleased to announce that the National Show for 2024 will be held on the 2nd & 3rd November at the Claudelands Event Centre in Hamilton. This show will be convened by Mark and Mary-Ann Pruden and supported by a willing group of volunteers.

The National Show will form part of the new five-day Waikato Show which includes the last two days allocated to the Waikato A & P Society. Showing Waikato are combining their two largest shows, the Waikato A & P show and the 3-day Waikato Winter Show into a single event intended to bring together both rural and urban communities.

• This event will be a large event that will give the alpaca industry a unique opportunity to showcase our animals and fleeces to a large public audience.
• The pens and show ring are all in the same building.
• We have a great opportunity to demonstrate the commercial outputs of farming alpaca. To this end we are inviting all members who want to have a trade stand at this event to contact the show organisers via [email protected]
• All facilities are modern and of a high standard, with new lighting and ventilation, which is great for our animal’s presentation and our judge’s ability to inspect them.
• There is a range of accommodation in close proximity.
• There are numerous food vendors at the event and close by, so our members will have plenty of choice.
• There is plenty of room around the ring area, enabling an ordered assembly of alpacas and plenty of room for the fleece display.
• There is ample space for both the public and exhibitors to view the show.

This is an excellent opportunity for the alpaca industry and it would be great to welcome the public back to our National Show.

Further information on judges, schedules, entry fees, sponsorship opportunities and trade stands will be forwarded to all members as they become available.

Kind regards
Bruce Taplin
