ALPACA FLEECE WORKSHOP & Southern Region AGM

This is a practical “hands on” workshop for both experienced and less experienced
alpaca people who want to do something with their alpaca fibre.
Open to members and non-members of the Alpaca Association New Zealand.

Programme - Introduction and setting the theme for the day

Cleaning and skirting alpaca fleece demonstration (please bring a fleece with you. If you don’t have a fleece
let us know and one will be provided)

Practical exercise – cleaning and skirting a fleece

Leo and Karen Ponsonby (Green Acres Yarns – Rolleston) – what is required for commercial processing

Don Morrison (PML) will sample test your fleece and provide explanation of what each measurement means

Maree Churchill from Swannanoa – “felting” alpaca fleece

Margaret Jenkins from Oxford – hand spinning demonstration

Free to Alpaca Association members, $25.00 per head ($40.00 for a couple) for non members.
